SEO talk at AptlyNetworked

I had a great time tonight at the AptlyNetworked meeting in Hailsham. I met lots of new contacts and caught up with old friends.

The only thing that was a bit of a let down was my short presentation on SEO. Regrettably my bad case of man-flu got the better of me and I simply didn’t deliver. Thankfully, I had the decency to keep it short so attendees could get back to the all important networking.

I’m looking forward to the next meeting January, sans man-flu of course.

Adobe throws in the towel

Well the inevitable has happened. Adobe has finally decided to call it a day when it comes to developing Flash for mobile devices. And considering mobile is the future for the web, the days are numbered for Flash on your desktop or laptop also.

AptlyCreative has been embracing new web technologies for a while now, HTML5 and CSS3 are the present and the future.

So long Flash, you won’t be missed.

Stepping into the breach

Joe from AptlyCreative made his first visit to the popular First Friday networking event in Eastbourne. The group was very friendly and welcoming and he said it was great to meet lots of new small business owners.

Things got really interesting when the events organisers asked if he could stand in for their guest speaker that was unable to attend.

“Sure, no problem” he said. Speaking to 20 or so strangers about web design, with no time to prep and no resources, couldn’t be easier.

Joe tells me that the group were very receptive and readily engaged with the open discussion parts of his talk. He talked about the cloud, content distribution networks and marketing online. All in all a really productive and worth while visit to Eastbourne’s First Friday.

A new office

AptlyCreative has a new home. Just moved into Town House on Market Street in Hailsham. The team will still be distributed across Sussex and Warwickshire — working anywhere there’s an internet connection, helping to keep those overheads down and saving clients money, but the new office will be the main work place for Joe. Pop in for a chat and a coffee if you’re passing.
